Hamed T. Al-Saadoun is Vice President, Employee Relations and Training and is a member of Saudi Aramco’s Executive Management Group. He began his career with Aramco on November 17, 1976, and has more than 30 years of company experience, advancing through a field of operational assignments leading to his current position, to which he was named in October 2004.
Hamed Al-Saadoun was educated at KFUPM where he received a BS in Applied Mechanical Engineering in 1976. He served in supervisory positions at unit and division levels up through the early 1980s, mainly in Refinery Maintenance and Refinery Operations, and was appointed Manager Refinery Maintenance in 1988.
He held several other managerial positions until his appointment as President & Managing Director of SASREF (Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Company) in 1994.
Hamed also attended assignments outside of Saudi Aramco, namely Management Development Seminar in Washington DC, USA, as well as the Accelerated Development Program, London Business School in 1994.
In 1997 he was appointed Executive Director of Industrial Services, serving there until November 2001. At that time, he became Executive Director of Western Region Refining, Supply and Distribution and was promoted to Vice President in that position on May 1, 2002. He then moved to Dhahran in June 2003 to take up the position as Vice President, Community Buildings & Office Services.
Hamed is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ASHRM (Arabian Society for Human Resources Management), Chairman of the Board of SASREF, as well as being a member of various internal Aramco Committees.
Hamed is a keen artist, especially in the field of portraits and pastel portraits. Previously, he held the title of President of the Dhahran Art Group which kept him very busy. Hamed also stays very much in tune with his kids, where there is never a dull moment in the household.
